The coastline of Mauritius is approximately 330 km long and nearly everywhere you can find the nice sandy beaches.
Another big advantage of Mauritius is that the entire island is surrounded by coral reefs which have created big lagoons all around.
These lagoons not only beautiful with crystal clear water, but also provide calm water conditions, ideal for swimming, bathing and snorkeling.
All beaches are open to the public even the tropical dream beaches in front of luxury hotels.
You find anything that makes the heart of a surfer beat faster: flat
water, and a shallow area, just in front of the house in Le Morne and not crowded.
After a downwind trip of 10 minutes you can find waves
for beginners (little reef), waves for advanced surfers (manawa) and
expert waves (one eye). Depending on the wind direction surfing and
kite surfing is possible right from your doorstep.

While there are several kite schools available at Le Morne main beach, we strongly recommend to contact “David”, one of your neighbors. He grew up in Le Morne, and is a licensed kite instructor. He offers lessons for beginners and advanced kite surfers in group courses, or for individuals.
He also organizes kite trips along the coast or gives you detailed briefings about the lagoon.
